In fact, when I was in high school, Mrs. Faber lived across the street from us. She has a daughter, Jackie, who is my age (an incidentally one of my biggest cheerleaders). Our families became very close, and having Mrs. Faber across the street was like having a bonus Mom. And what teenage girl couldn't benefit from a little extra mothering?
So I was so thrilled to get to make a pair of shoes for her sweet granddaughter's first Christmas.
She's going to wear them to meet Santa...
I wanted them to be holiday, but still something she could wear past Christmas time...
